It was well after 1am by now and nobody could tell us if we could purchase tickets. So we attempted to sleep in the Second class waiting room. After many dramas that Adam will detail, we finally boarded the Kerala Express to Agra at 11:35am. Apparently express in India means they blow out a 1 hour distance to 3 hours by travelling intermittently at 60km/hr and 4km/hr as they see fit but rarely actually stopping. Thankfully these were sleepers, so we all crashed. We finally arrived at Agra Cannt. after 2pm. We dashed to a moderately cheap and disgracefully dirty hotel (Hotel Jai Hind) to dump our bags and progress to the Taj Mahal. This, of course, was the reason for which we had come. Because of our 750Rs entry ticket, we managed to skip the queue (7-10 abrest and tightly packed by Indian standards for the first 10m, thinning out to 4 abrest tightly packey by western standards for the next 100m). Reagan says over 300, I say over 500 people easy. We got in an hour before sundown. Quite pretty.
