We had a quick stopover in Kuala Lumpur and Sarah’s dad, Tony, put us up in style. He had a friend pick us up from the airport train and take us to his place. Another friend was away on business and conveniently occupied the penthouse of Tony’s building so we got some free and very stylish accommodation.
The first day was consumed with sleeping for me while Kahlia slipped very nicely into her new role as wife and did the washing.
The washing machine emptied into the shower and the dirt that was left their testified to the dirtiness of India.
Tony took us to the Ranhill Worsley-Parson, his work, end of year dinner. The theme was “International Colours” and there were stalls doing things from different parts of the world. I won a token prize for “playing” the didge, in reality I was the only one who could make a noise. (Side note: typing with a laptop prone to shocking you on your lap while naked is a bad idea!) There were spiced snacks from Africa and Arabic tea with saffron sugar cubes you suck. Each sugar chunk had multiple saffron stigmas in them! After dinner we had some performances from Malaysian super stars that the crowd swamped with mobile phone cameras.
The next day Tony drove us to the Airport and we were on our way to Cambodia.
