New York, New York

NYC (64)

After a red-eye to Boston and a quick cat-nap we were on our way to Connecticut to see Charles & Kim (Dr. Good to you). We slept in the next morning and weren’t on the 45 minute fast train till 3pm. Our whirlwind tour included the Empire State Building ($20 bucks! & an hour waiting). The Public Library, which was an awesome building. The Staten Island ferry  (ironically the Statue of Liberty looked smaller than I remember it being) and dinner at Lombardi’s before catching the late train home.

The next day Charles gave us a tour of his New York. It included Chelsea markets, the world’s biggest toy store, the Mac store and his “locals”. One of which is McSorley’s. This Irish alehouse serves their own Light and Dark ale. Ask for anything else and prepare to have “Light or Dark” barked at you. The dark is fantastic.

The afternoon was spent crossing the Brooklyn bridge on foot and having dinner in Brooklyn at Sea. A Thai restaurant cum club which serves disappointing food.

I enjoyed my time in NYC much more the second time around, but I still don’t think I could live there.
